Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to common questions about our NAATI-certified translation and interpreting services.

When do you need an apostille?

An apostille is often required to verify a document's authenticity for international use.

1. Australian documents used abroad: You typically need an apostille from DFAT (Australia) to use your documents in a foreign country.
2. Foreign documents used in Australia: Australian authorities (like Home Affairs) may require your original foreign document to be apostilled by the issuing country before they accept it alongside a NAATI-certified translation.

Always check with the specific organization requesting the documents to see if an apostille or "legalisation" is required in addition to a NAATI translation.

Why is there no fixed pricing for standard documents?

Market rates for NAATI-certified translators vary significantly depending on the language. Since the price difference between common and rare languages can reach up to 50%, we believe it is fairer to provide an accurate, tailored quote for each request rather than applying a flat "rounded up" rate that would overcharge many of our clients.

Choosing a translator or interpreter?

When choosing a language professional in Australia, it is essential to ensure they are NAATI-certified. This certification is the national standard and ensures your documents will be accepted by government agencies, courts, and educational institutions. We work with certified professionals to provide the highest level of accuracy and ethical standards.

Why NAATI?

NAATI (National Accreditation Authority for Translators and Interpreters) is the only body that issues certification for practitioners in Australia. Most government departments and professional bodies require NAATI-certified translations for official purposes.
