2. Foreign documents used in Australia: Australian authorities (like Home Affairs) may require your original foreign document to be apostilled by the issuing country before they accept it alongside a NAATI-certified translation.
Always check with the specific organization requesting the documents to see if an apostille or "legalisation" is required in addition to a NAATI translation.
Why is there no fixed pricing for standard documents?
Market rates for NAATI-certified translators vary significantly depending on the language. Since the price difference between common and rare languages can reach up to 50%, we believe it is fairer to provide an accurate, tailored quote for each request rather than applying a flat "rounded up" rate that would overcharge many of our clients.
How much should I pay for translation services?
It depends on your specific needs. For simple translations required by immigration or state services, a standard translation service is usually sufficient. Costs vary, but standard documents are often easy to quote because translators handle them frequently. For example a single standard document often starts with $70. In contrast, technical or medical documentation is typically priced per word at a higher rate. If you are translating text that will be presented to a very wide audience, you should consider a premium service where the translation is cross-checked by another NAATI practitioner.
How much does a 1000 word translation cost?
It depends on the language and complexity. Some languages have a higher cost per word than others; rates typically range from $0.15 to $0.50 per word, or even more in rare circumstances. Additionally, rates for legal, technical, or medical documents are generally higher.

Can I get a physical hard copy of the translation?
Yes. While our standard delivery is digital, we can provide a physical hard copy sent via post for an additional fee upon request. Please let us know when requesting your quote if you require a physical version.
